Baked Greek Lamb Meatballs with Tzatziki Sauce

The easiest meatballs paired with homemade Tzatziki for a delicious and healthy meal. Stuff into warm flatbreads, make couscous or rice bowls, or serve with roasted cauliflower for a low-carb salad meal!

Ingredients
    Lamb Meatballs:
  • 700g/24.7oz Lamb (Minced)
  • 1 Small Onion (finely chopped)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 4 Tbsp Fresh Parsley (chopped)
  • 2 Tbsp Fresh Mint (chopped)
  • 1 Tsp Oregano (Dried)
  • 2 Tsp Cumin (Ground)
  • 1 Tsp Coriander (Ground)
  • ¼ Tsp Chilli Flakes
  • 1 Egg (beaten)
  • ¼ Cup Breadcrumbs
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Tzatziki Sauce:
  • 1 Cup Cucumber (Grated without the seeds)
  • 1 ½ Cups Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 Tbls Fresh Mint (chopped)
  • 1 Tbls Fresh Dill (chopped)
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 Medium Garlic (minced)
  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • ½ Tsp Sea Salt
Method
    Meatballs:
  1. In a large bowl combine all ingredients together and form into balls.

  2. Cover and place in the fridge for at least an hour to let the flavours marinate.

  3. Place on a baking sheet and bake in oven 200C/400F for 20 minutes. Best served with Tzatziki Sauce.

  4. Tzatziki Sauce:
  5. With your hand squeeze the cucumber to remove as much liquid as possible and pat dry with kitchen roll tissues. Transfer to a serving bowl.

  6. Add the yogurt, oil, herbs, lemon juice, garlic, salt and mix well.

  7. Let the mixture rest for 5 minutes then taste and add additional herbs, lemon juice to your liking if needed.
