Double Chocolate Pecan Pie

Ingredients:
    Biscuit Base (24-25cm Tart Pan or Pie Dish)
  • 400g/14.1oz Original Oreo Biscuits (Crushed)
  • 80g/2.8oz Butter (Melted)
  • Pie Filling:
  • 2 Eggs
  • 80g/2.8oz Butter (Melted)
  • 130g/4.6oz Chocolate (Dark (Melted))
  • ¾ Cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1⁄3 Cup Honey
  • 1⁄3 Cup Maple Syrup
  • 2 TBSP Whiskey
  • 1 TSP Vanilla Essence
  • ½ Tsp Salt
  • 1½ Cups Pecans (Chopped plus extra for on top)
Method
    Base:
  1. Mix crushed biscuits with melted butter.

  2. Press down onto the sides and base of a tart pan or pie dish.

  3. Bake in preheated oven 180C/350F for 8 minutes.

  4. Remove and leave to cool before adding the filling.

  5. Pie Filling:
  6. With a hand balloon whisk, whisk the eggs and sugar together in a medium mixing bowl.

  7. Add the honey, mayple syrup, melted chocolate, melted butter, whiskey, vanilla essence and salt, and whisk until combined.

  8. Stir in the chopped pecans and transfer to the prepared pie shell.

  9. Place pecan halves around the edge, to garnish.

  10. Bake in preheated oven 180C/350F for 35 minutes or until set around the edges and just a little jiggly towards the center.

  11. Cool completely before slicing.
