Chocolate Ganache:

  1. Preheat oven 180C/350F.

  2. In a 23cm/8inch springform pan add the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.

  3. Using a hand balloon whisk and combine together. Add the oil, vinegar, vanilla and hot water and whisk again until completely combined.

  4. Use a spatula to spread evenly and bake for 25-30 minutes until toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  5. Let it cool slightly and remove the sides of the pan.

Chocolate Ganache

  1. Heat the cream in a small pan, until almost boiling to the edges. Remove from heat and add chopped chocolate. Let it sit for 1 minute and then stir until smooth.

  2. Pour the ganache on top of the cake and spread it leaving a 1 inch border at the edge.

  3. Use a spoon to create a flower shape.

  4. With the tip of the spoon slightly further down from the center push it in the ganache curving it like we write a comma "," nearly to the edge and do it again in the center but smaller ones (it's not visible on mine because I placed fruit on top as a presentation).

  5. Because of the heat you might have to put it in the fridge for the ganache to set but then take it out to reach room temperature before serving.

  6. It is delicious on its own but you can also serve it warm with ice-cream on top.
