Ingredients

Method

  1. Lay out a pastry sheet, leaving it on its packaging paper.

  2. Spread nutella filling and cover with second sheet of pastry.

  3. Place the filled pastry in the freezer for 15 minutes before cutting the strips (this will make it easier to cut without pulling the pastry and keeping everything clean).

  4. Cut 1-inch strips across the pastry. Turn over edges to meet in the middle. Fold up into the shape of a heart and insert a skewer stick diagonally in the middle.

  5. Place on baking paper in a shallow dish and brush the sides and tops with beaten egg.

  6. Bake in preheated oven 200C/400F for 20-30 minutes, until pastry is golden.

  7. Remove from oven and leave to cool. Insert strawberries threw the skewer sticks and sprinkle with icing sugar.

  8. Enjoy!

Note

  • Skewers - Soak skewers in water before so they won't burn whilst baking.
  • Puff Pastry - Not all pastry sheets are the same size. Mine was 10 x 13 inches (25cm x 33cm) so I cut the strips from the longest side.
  • If the length is bigger than 13" cut from the shorter side.
